Apple unveils 'Get Ready' feature to ease iPhone Duo pre‑order frenzy

Apple has introduced a new "Get Ready" feature that allows shoppers to set up their iPhone Duo order before the official pre‑order period begins on Friday, October 16, aiming to calm the yearly spike in online traffic.

The service operates via a straightforward web page or the Apple Store app. After signing in with their Apple ID, users pick their desired model, storage capacity, color, carrier, and payment option, then receive confirmation that their configuration is stored. When the pre‑order clock hits midnight on Friday, the system automatically submits the order using the saved setup.

Apple’s move draws on experience from earlier launches, where intense demand overloaded its servers and caused checkout delays for buyers. Comparable pre‑order preparation tools were used for the Apple Watch and AirPods roll‑outs, helping the firm distribute traffic and give customers a clearer route to securing the products they want.

Analysts point out that the iPhone Duo is likely to spark considerable interest, especially with its new dual‑camera array and upgraded processor. By permitting shoppers to lock in their selections in advance, the Get Ready tool may lessen irritation and enable carriers to forecast inventory requirements more precisely.

Shoppers who want to use the feature can begin the setup right away. Apple will push a notification when the pre‑order window opens, and the stored order will be placed automatically, offering participants a better shot at obtaining their chosen configuration without the usual website congestion.
